Conan

Conan Review

Conan Feature

  • The new engine, developed especially for Conan, allows real time lighting, volumetric lights and shadows and also a huge number of fantastic graphical effects .
  • There is a number of logical puzzles and traps, which are waiting to be solved.
  • The advanced AI makes possible various defensive and offensive tactics against different enemies, depending on their intelligence level (animal, undead, human, etc.).
  • Conan is the most sexist, brainless, brash, gory and crude game you'll ever play. In fact, this makes the adventures of Kratos seem like they were penned by a feminist pacifist.
  • Conan can pull off counter attacks by blocking enemy strikes as they're about to hit. That's not all though: you've then a limited time to press one of the attack buttons, which initiates a gloriously over-the-top instant kill - slicing limbs off, decapitating a foe or even ripping their beating heart from their chest.
Manufacturer's Description As the days grew shorter and colder, the nights longer and darker, home seemed to be no more than a distant memory for our brave warrior. He finally approached his destination of Grannach when a band of armoured riders pounded through the crowd of corpses. Their dark shapes were rushing towards him, but our warrior could not tear his eyes away from the reflecting vulture symbol on one of the riders armour. As the riders passed, our hero could barely make out his village through the dust - but as the dust lifted, there remained only burning cinders and carnage of his native home& Take control of the sword of the greatest hero to roam the lands of Hyboria - Conan. Having seen your native village of Grannach burnt to the ground you now begin your quest for revenge. You will fight your way across the Black Mountains and rivers in search of the cult who brought death to your home. You will have to master various swords, axes and the mace in order to complete this perilous journey. As the story unfolds you will find yourself face to face with strange mystical creatures that test your fighting skills to the death. Discover the entrances to temples and caves along the way, where you will scale walls, leap obstacles, solve puzzles and retrieve the pieces of the Atlantean Sword in order to help you in achieving your destiny of defeating The Vulture Cult.

Prince of Persia Collection

Prince of Persia Collection Review

See more picture

Being a 17 year-old teenager, I have played A LOT of games throughout my life. I started playing Prince of Persia 1 on a Macintosh back in the day. It was by far the greatest game I had ever played. That was 10 years ago. Since then, we have seen Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, N 64, Sega Dreamcast, Playstation 1 and 2, and hundreds of thousands of PC games come into the market. These newer games are high in resolution and have great graphics. However, the original Prince of Persia is still, by far, the greatest game money can buy. If this collection was selling for over [more money], I would still recommend it to gamers everywhere. If you have bought this collection, let me assure you that you are going to be VERY happy. This software is BRAND NEW. Packaging may differ slightly from the stock photo above. Please click on our logo above to see over 15,000 titles in stock.

It is lots of fun , and my friend, who has the game, spent a year trying to master one move on level 2, so it is good for people like her, who like a challenge, and who like to fight.

Prince of Persia Limited Edition

Prince of Persia Limited Edition Review

See more picture

This is a great game, but paying the extra + dollars for the limited edition is not worth it. I only got the limited edition when it was sold on Amazon on sale for .99.

The limited edition is essentially the regular version plus an extra Blu-Ray disc. This bonus disc has a "soundtrack", making of videos, art gallery, and a snippet of a help guide.

The "soundtrack" was disappointing since you can't play it from a CD player or transfer to an MP3 player. What's worse is that they are more like 2 minute background music loops. Nothing special there.

Some of the bonus videos could have been found on the UbiSoft website.

Art galleries are nice but a paper book would have been better.

The hint guide is more of an ad/preview for the printed version. And since this game is so short... do you really need it? It's also hard to read the hint guide text on the screen unless you have a really big TV screen. I'm guessing that the pages of the printed guide were just saved as JPEG's and not specially formatted for the screen.

I'd give the game itself 4 stars.

Excellent continuation of the series - Mondo -
I wasn't too sure how having a new Prince would affect the series, but the game stays true to its roots despite having a different character as the protagonist. Excellent game if you have enjoyed the previous PoP games.

Prince of Persia Limited Edition Review - Protectron - NY, USA
Not sure where the limited edition was being sold for $[...] dollars more that the previous reviewer indicated considering I got mine for the same price as the standard edition when the game was first released. So all the extra stuff for no extra cost sounds great to me.

I've never played a Prince of Persia game before this one and I've heard great things about the Sands of Time Trilogy so I decided to pick this up. I'm glad I did because it's a great game and has made me a fan of the series!

The environments are breathtaking and I thought the design of the Prince's guantlet & sword were pretty cool. I loved stringing together different moves to attack enemies however the difficulty of the game could be a little higher. The trophies are relatively easy to get as well but some can be frustrating.

All in all, a great game for the PS3!

Prince of Persia 2 Warrior Within

Prince of Persia 2 Warrior Within Review

See more picture

Prince of Persia : Warrior Within for the PS2 is a darker sequel to the original Prince of Persia game. Where the first game was light and almost musical in its fluid grace, this latest Persia game is dark, violent, and has throbbing heavy-guitar soundtrack.

The hallmark of the original Prince of Persia game was its amazing motion and graphics. The prince would jump up ledges, run along walls, somersault, and all the while the banners would be blowing in the breeze, a cloak would be fluttering, torches would be flickering. It was really beautiful.

In addition, Prince of Persia had a time system where you could go back or forward in time. This added a really interesting element to puzzles, where you had to figure out if "backing up" the time would help you solve the situation.

Skip forward to this current release, Warrior Within. The prince is definitely dark and angry now. The levels are all much darker visually and in emotion. Monsters spew blood. Body parts come ripping off. The prince's moves are angular, angry, full of power. He's still solving puzzles and skipping through time, but it is with a dark stare.

This game is rated M for MATURE and this is very apparent. It's not the whore-slaying modern issues of Grand Theft Auto, but it's definitely violent. It's a game about rage and violence. It's not something to get for the younger tykes.

The sound is very well done, with the voice acting, additional noises, and the throbbing soundtrack. That being said, if hammering guitar and hoarse yelling isn't your type of music, you might get tired VERY quickly with this. There are missions that should be stealthy and it's sometimes hard to get into that mood.

The graphics, as mentioned, are gorgeous. Maybe a bit TOO dark at times, but that's the mood they're going for.

All in all a very fun game, the graphics still stun, and adult gamers will appreciate the immersion into an alternate (violent) reality.

Prince of Persia 2 Warrior Within Feature

  • Fight against an entire island of most brutal, unrelenting monsters who exist only to torment mankind
  • Manipulate the environments and use your enemies against each other, for a new kind of fighting
  • Use the Sands Of Time from the first game in all-new ways -- create devastating new combos you create as you battle enemies
Prince of Persia Warrior Within is a sword-slashing sequel to the hit game, Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time. This time, our Prince is hunted by Dahaka, an immortal incarnation of Fate. The spirit seeks retirbution against the Prince, but he is wiser and deadlier than he was. To avoid his preordained death, he'll travel to the infernal core of mankind's worst fears.

Very Different from Sands of Time... - S. E. Flowers - Indiana
After playing Sands of Time, I had to get this one, and they are very different... Parents be advised that the rating on the game did go up, and that is because it is much more graphic (more blood and "beautiful" women wearing revealing clothing) and contains some profanity. The moves are a lot more advanced and technical in this game as well. It's still a lot of fun to play, but it seems like you're running around not sure what you're suppose to be doing a lot more often in this one than in Sands of Time - which had a more linear storyline and an easy to follow plot.

Replay value is way up there! - Laurence Click - Nevada City, CA United States
Prince of Persian 2: Warrior Within is probably my all-time favorite game. I pull it out every now and then and play it again. Not only are the graphics gorgeous, but the puzzles and the fighting are good. I own 4 titles in the Prince of Persia Series. Sands of Time comes in a close second, but the fighting moves in Warrior Within are better. I found the gameplay in The Two Thrones a bit too challenging for me. I am currently playing the new XBOX 360 POP and have not completed it, but so far, Warrior Within is better. For single player mode (which is what I mostly do) there isn't a better title IMHO.

Prince of Persia The Two Thrones

Prince of Persia The Two Thrones Review

I bought this for my family as we are all gamers, my husband, son, daughter and I. We already had Sands of Time and Warrior Within (which was a kicka$$ game BTW) My daughter doesn't really care for this type of game, but my husband, son and I do. This series of games offer some difficult challenges and though I would recommend them for everyone, you probably won't ever get to the end unless you are a gamer. It isn't a casual game. Basically in this game he has two different personalities, you are able to play both as with the other games you can use the sands of time to help you along. The graphics are great, the voice acting isn't bad either. Overall this is a great game and offers something new and challenging that the other Prince of Persia games did not have. It's definitely entertaining for the amount you spend vs the entertainment value that you get out of it. I would say it's one of the better game series.

Prince of Persia The Two Thrones Feature

  • Play and master two distinct characters, the Prince and the Dark Prince -- wield the powers and weapons of two master warriors with different combat styles, attitudes, and histories
  • The expanded Free-Form Fighting system lets you choose the way you kill - Strangle enemies from afar, use a new stealth art to inflict surprise decapitations -- and much more
  • Dominate enemies on the perilous rooftops, dodge through chaotic streets, and ambush pursuers in dark underground passageways
  • Manipulate time to surprise enemies, using all-new Sands Of Time properties
  • Action combat, agility and story-driven puzzles are blended together for a rich gaming experience
